Ceres Terminals

As Head of Communications and Branding for Ceres Terminals, I had the opportunity to create the marketing department from the ground up. I held this position for three years handling branding and marketing for a large B2B corporation spread throughout the United States and Canada.

In this role, I sat on the Senior Leadership Team as the only female leader, and I presented at the semi-annual board meetings as the youngest leader to ever present to the Board of Advisors. In October 2023, my branding and digital marketing efforts helped the company get acquired by Blackstone Financial for an estimated 1 billion. I stepped down from my director role to open up my own digital marketing agency in 2024.

Wang Vision Institute

As Communications Director at Wang Vision Institute, it was my responsibility to handle the digital marketing and external communications for a B2C LASIK company located in Nashville, TN. I reported directly to the president of the company, Dr. Ming Wang, MD, PhD. I would travel with him around middle, TN, helping him host and present at vision seminars. The vision seminars were his main way of marketing to potential patients because it gave him the opportunity to share more information about the eye surgeries in person. I held this position for three years before joining Ceres Terminals. When I left Wang Vision, Dr. Wang and I pulled a report from my work over the years, and I had held over 700 vision seminars/webinars.

It was an honor to travel with Dr. Wang and be mentored by him daily. He taught me the importance of creating good in-house systems and processes. Today, Dr. Wang is a famous eye surgeon who's movie "SIGHT" is now streaming on Angel Studios.

Public Speaking

Created and launched a marketing follow-up program to help push patients from the seminar and into the vision clinic.

Dr. Wang and Alana at the annual Chinese New Year event that Alana helped host for Wang Vision Institute. I doubled the attendance for the event through marketing efforts.

Spoke weekly for Dr. Ming Wang at weekly seminars, and large annual events. Along with running paid social media ads to attract event attendees.

"Alana played an instrumental role in helping me market my vision clinic. We traveled together putting on vision seminars all over Tennessee. Many times, we would host 10 vision seminars per week. During the COVID six-week shutdown, Alana and I held over 50 vision webinars with hundreds of potential patients attending each seminar. It was Alana's responsibility to get people to show up to the seminars and encourage them to sign up for vision appointments on the webinars."

Other Experience

Marketing and communications have been a passion of mine for over 10 years. I've been very active in my community handling marketing for various community organizations, public figures and companies. Some of those organizations and public figures include:

- Board Member and Communications Director of the TN Immigrant Minority Business Group.

- Board Member of the TN Community Services Agency (TNCSA), appointed by Govenor Bill Lee.

- Campaign Manager for U.S. House of Representative Steve Russell (OK).

- Project Supervisor for the Admissions Office at Trevecca University.
